We went around 8:30am on a Saturday and were served promptly! Our coffee order consisted of a hot mocha latte & a hot vanilla lavender latte. We also picked up bakery treats: 2 thumbprint cookies, 1 chocolate chip cookie & 2 chocolate sprinkle cake pops. The drinks were great!! Fresh, tasty & well ground espresso made for a perfect latte. Our baked goods were devoured in minutes & everyone loved them! The physical space in the cafe is quite open & very inviting with my favorite being the pink counter stools!

Wow, I'm coming here Everytime I'm in SA!!! All the food is gluten free - I wanted a cinnamon roll but they are so popular, they sold out. I settled for pumpkin bread, but it was delicious! I loved my matcha too. Such a beautiful cafe with thought in every detail.

The Mermaid Cafe is a delightful neighborhood gem that offers an array of delicious cookies, cakes, and coffee. Mermaid's team is fantastic, friendly and eager to assist you when choosing between a chocolate chip cookie baked in-house and a whimsical cake pop... all gluten free and scrumptious! The coffee options are well curated with classic cafe fare... think espresso, Americano, latte, hot chocolate, and iced coffee. We tried the iced coffee (I added a shot of espresso), an iced vanilla latte, an iced latte, and we indulged in several gluten free cookies. The coffee was fresh and bright with nutty notes. Try the chocolate chip and peanut butter cookie... it was savory-sweet and moist. The Mermaid Cafe is a wonderful addition to the San Antonio coffee scene. It's commitment to hiring folks with disabilities, and providing an inviting spot to enjoy a pastry and coffee, has this eatery standing out. I highly recommend... cheers!

This was a very nice experience for my wife. She has celiacs so having a dedicated gluten free kitchen. I had a ham and Swiss quiche and it was delicious. My wife loaded up on pastries as it can be hard to find good gluten free pastries.

A friend and I decided to try this new cafe which is owned and operated by the family with an adult daughter with a disability. It’s great to find a cafe that encourages and hires people with disabilities as well. This cafe has excellent coffee and offers pastries (cookies, cinnamon rolls, cake) as well. My friend and I had quiche which was tasty and light. The cafe also sells t-shirts and coffee mugs!

The service was absolutely amazing — the owner is awesome and makes you feel right at home! I got the iced chocolate mocha, pumpkin whoopie pie, and a peanut butter cookie with Reese’s, and wow… this place is dangerous. The food is so good it’s going to make you want it every single day. Totally worth it!

We visited thee cutest inclusive coffee shop this morning, what a special and beautiful concept. We really enjoyed our lattes and carrot cake. The best carrot cake around! Love the decor and mermaid theme. We will be back.

Such an incredible and unique space! The coffee and food are delicious! The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. My go to is the La La Latte and gf chocolate chip cookie. I branched out to today and bought the grilled cheese and tomato basil soup—it was made ready to order and came out hot and fresh! Superb! All around incredible experience! 10/10 would recommend!!! 😊

After a walk with the hubby at beautiful Phil Hardberger Park, we considered what to do next. Not quite ready to go home on this beautiful Saturday, we searched for a nearby coffee shop on Google. The Mermaid Cafe came up, so we decided to check it out. Upon arrival, we were greeted with a warm and inviting atmosphere, a clearly displayed menu, and a beautiful color scheme. The service was friendly, and the manager answered all our questions about the 100% gluten free menu. I ordered the broccoli quiche and an iced tea, while the hubby ordered the drip coffee. They have a variety of sweeteners, cream, and even cinnamon to add to your coffee. Both the dining room and the restrooms are spotless, and the place was quite busy. I 100% recommend this place especially if you are looking for a 100% gluten-free cafe experience.

What a wonderful experience! The staff are very friendly, welcoming and were extremely helpful. The store itself was decorated beautifully and very clean. I absolutely loved their merchandise and had to grab a shirt! Will definitely be back. 🩵
